Conference Chair
Prof. Bim Prasad Shrestha, PhD,is currently Director of Student Welfare and Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering. He is a dynamic professor with several decades of experiences in mechanization and machinery.
Prof. Shrestha started his career as a lecturer at Tribhuvan University upon completion of Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Engineering under USAID Scholarship. Prof. Shrestha joined government service at Ministry of Water Resources and then completed his masters (agriculture mechanization) at University of Miyazaki in Japan and PhD from Kagoshima University, under Japanese Government Scholarship, Monbusho followed by postdoc in Bio-Systems Engineering.
He joined KU as an Assistant Professor in the year of 2004. During his 17 years at Kathmandu University, he has bagged several grants, published research and conference and peer-reviewed papers, and accomplished numerous research projects. His research areas are diverse covering automation, agriculture and rural development focusing on biofuels and biomass in energy sector, machine vision, sanitation etc. Apart from his teaching and research responsibilities, he is actively involved in developing collaboration and linkages with national and international Universities and agencies. He has led projects with the World Bank, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and International Foundation for Science (IFS), DANIDA, EU, US Embassy/ Department of State, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Currently he is Principal Investigator/ team leader of the Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP) and Nepal Technology Innovation Center (NTIC) at Kathmandu University that is being established with support from South Korean Government.

About The Event Organizer
Established in 2002 A.D., AMES is a student wing of Mechanical Engineering students that provides platform to delve into the practical side of the contextual matters and involves the students in various co- curricular and extra curricular activities through various programs. The club is moderated by the department and conducts different programs as per the academic calendar in response to the department.
AMES conducts various activities collaboration with other clubs within the university and engineering associations outside the university. AMES also collaborates with different governmental and non- governmental agencies to organize awareness and advocacy programs.

University Scholar Conference: Engineering and Innovation (USC 2022) is a student level conference to be organized in hybrid mode after the successful completion of first edition in virtual mode. USC 2022 provides a scholarly platform for students and researchers to exchange and share cutting-edge development and state-of-the-art research work in the field of science and engineering among academia, researchers, industrialists, professors, students and policy makers. Conference committee highly encourages participation of students engaged in engineering and science education within Nepal and abroad.

Paper Submission and Publications
- Authors are invited to submit full papers that have neither been published elsewhere nor being currently under review by another conference or journal.
- Authors are expected to present their papers at the conference upon acceptance of abstract and presenting authors are required to register for the conference.
- Abstract and full paper format will be in accordance with the KUSET format.
- Accepted full papers will be published in the proceedings of the conference and submitted to the KUSET for publication.

- Poster Presentation Competition is one of the practical approaches to showcase their summary in the form of Poster. It aims to provide students, academicians, partners, scholars a platform to share their works, research pieces, and contributions. A formal, research-based presentation of the work is a poster presentation. This presentation uses text, charts, graphs, and other visual aids to provide a visual representation of the study.
