MechQuiz 2019 conducted for strengthening relationships within the students

Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES) organized a quiz competition successfully on 7th May, 2019. The competition was named “MechQuiz” and was targeted specially to the students of mechanical engineering in central campus, Kathmandu University.

The program started at room no. 304, Block 8 from 2 PM, and was inaugurated by Mr. Abhishek Subedi, President of AMES. He says, “This event will practice the reasoning and aptitudes skills of students. It will bind the relationship among different batches of the students at DoME, and is also a source of entertainment”. Then, Subarna Paudel, an executive member of AMES mentioned the game methods and league tournament of the competition. After that, Quiz master, Puraskar Aryal, Vice-President of AMES discussed the rules of each round.

The game involved 12 teams and around 40 audiences. Each team had 3 members. 3 teams were from 3rd year, 6 teams from 2nd year and 3 teams from 1st year. League match was played between 4 teams. Top 2 teams from each league advanced to the final round. The quiz was a collection of questions from various fields of knowledge such as Mathematics, engineering, IQ and riddles, geography, history, visual knowledge etc. After completing all the rounds “Team C” from 1st year with highest points of 135 in the finale, won the competition. The winning team members were; Bigya Krishna Shrestha, Isha Acharya and Upama Pant. The event was concluded and medals & certificates to the winners will be awarded in the day of award ceremony. Participants and audiences seemed satisfied and had broadened their horizons.  Overall the competition proved to be informative and inspiring to the students.
