AMES Cup 2018, organized by Association of Mechanical Engineering Students (AMES) initiated the Football Tournament on 20th April 2018. The inauguration of the Football Tournament was done with the first game between Teachers & Faculty Members vs Fourth Year students of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kathmandu University.
It has been a tradition since quite some time in the history of AMES that the first match of Football Tournament would always be of Teachers & Faculty Members vs Fourth Year Students as an farewell game for the final year (fourth year) students. As per the tradition established, the game always starts with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hari Prasad Neopane, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering kicking the football in the ground. The tradition had to be saved this year too. So, the same things were followed in this Football Tournament of AMES Cup 2018.
The game was scheduled for 2:30 PM. So, the classes were canceled and all the teachers, faculties and students were seen in the football ground to play/watch the interesting football match that was about to happen. The match started with the great applause from the well numbered audiences from Department of Mechanical Engineering as well as from other neighboring departments.
The match was for the interaction, entertainment and enjoyment between the teachers and students. So, the audiences did not get the vibe of the competition. The match went well and all the faculty members as well as the students were glad to be a part of this match.
